President of the Apostolic Church – Ghana, Apostle Dr Aaron Ami-Narh, has said that ‘Sanctification is not a high standard, but the basic requirement of a Christian. He made this profound statement at the 2023 National Delegates Conference at the Apostolic Retreat Resource and Conference Center, Fafraha.
The President added that a sanctified life is one of holiness and separation from unholy acts. Elaborating on the scriptures from 2 Timothy 2:20-21, He emphasised that those who are sanctified are fit for the Lord’s use. He further stated that ‘‘In the school of Sanctification, you can not be like others; you have to be yourself and dare to be different!’’
Apostle Aaron Ami-Narh further explained that righteousness is imputed, whereas, holiness is practical. ‘‘When we are saved and forgiven, we receive salvation of a new birth; then we are declared righteous like one who has never been defiled, and hence, must live a holy life’’. He stated that ‘‘Holiness is obedience to God and His word and the charge, ‘Be ye holy’ means disciples of Christ have the divine ability to live a holy life’’.
‘’In the dispensation of the law, there was no inherent power to obey the laws, however in this period of grace, the power to obey the word of God is the Holy Spirit at work in us’’.
Apostle Ami-Narh cautioned the youth against youthful lust, thus sexual immorality, which he stated has become a canker breeding among the youth. He cautioned that the Bible has stated categorically for believers to flee from lust because it has the tendency to overrule every christian.
He called on all Christian youth to be wise and discerning enough to know when to flee from sexual immorality – ‘the wise flee whiles the foolish stand as though they can be strong enough to resist.’ He also asked the youth to be circumspect in their way of dressing so as not to be likened to harlots (Proverbs 7).
Apostle Ami- Narh warned the youth by the word of God to be careful of what they watch, listen, and open themselves to . ‘Stop feeding yourself with the junk on social media and stop forwarding things that are not edifying.’
The president concluded that the comprehensive solution to living a sanctified life is walking in the fear of the Lord, constant study of the word of God, having the mindset that the world today and future generations depend on the Christlike nature of the youth today all through the power of the Holy Spirit.
