The 2024 National Youth Week Celebration was launched at the Tema Community 5 District on Sunday, 20th October, 2024. The launch was attended by the National Youth Committee, Area Youth Leaders and Secretaries in the Greater Accra Region and the Youth (members) in Tema Area. Other Officers of the church (Pastors, Elders, Deacons and Deaconesses) were also present. Furthermore, the event was streamed live on Facebook (TAC Youth Online) in order to allow for the participation of all Youth in the Church and around the world.
Speaking at the launch, the National Youth Ministry Superintendent, Apostle Andrews Nortey, expounded on the theme, ‘A Different Spirit’ – Numbers 14:24. In his exposition, he stated that spirits do two main things in humans:
1. Spirits provide power for animation- Genesis 2:7. He explained that it was the Spirit of God which He breathed into Man (dust) that made him active (a living soul). In similar fashion, when any spirit dwells in an object; that spirit would make the object animate.
2. Spirits give direction – Ephesians 2:1-2. Apostle explained that spirits are philosophical and as such, they give humans lenses through which that person perceives life; ‘Spirits give a person the basis with which a person determines his/her course of life.’
He called on all youth to yield to the Spirit of God, for ‘as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God’.
Apostle prayed that God should revive the Youth and let the Holy Spirit give His children a different world view so that they will see things from God’s perspective so as to be different in society and inherit His promises.
The National Youth Leader, Pastor Enoch Offei, also called on the youth of the church to ’embrace the moment and let the week be a turning point in our walk with God.’
On behalf of the President, Apostle Dr. Aaron Ami-Narh, the National Executive, Council of Apostles and Prophets, as well as the General Council, Apostle Andrews Nortey launched the National Youth Week and called on all Youth and church members to actively participate in activities lined up in the week-long celebrations commencing from Monday, 21st October, 2024 to Sunday, 29th October, 2024.
